PDK International Rejoins Learning First Alliance: A Partnership Representing More than 10 Million Members

Arlington, Va. (August 3, 2022) – On July 26, 2022, the Board of Directors of the Learning First Alliance (LFA)–a partnership of leading education organizations representing more than 10 million members dedicated to improving student learning in America’s public schools–overwhelmingly approved PDK International’s membership to rejoin the alliance.

“We are so excited to return to the ranks of the Learning First Alliance, and know this community strengthens our efforts and resolve. As we look to our neighborhoods and schools to develop local Grow Your Own Programs and find the next generation of educators–we are working to prepare educators that are highly effective while also reflecting the communities they serve. PDK is grateful to rejoin the Alliance and is excited to reaffirm our commitment to the improvement of student learning,” said Albert Chen, Acting Chief Executive Officer for PDK International.

“PDK has made many unique contributions to teaching and learning,” said Richard Long, Executive Director of the Learning First Alliance. “Its magazine is one of the best in the community, bringing together ideas, practice, and insights. The annual poll provides the community with information on the public’s perception of K-12 education, and Educators Rising provides an expanding contribution to educator recruitment, cultivation, and support. We look forward to working with them to continue to support and improve public schools.”

“PDK International is excited to enhance its commitment to engagement through this partnership with leading education organizations who offer diverse perspectives on public education as we work to elevate the profession,” said Albert Chen.
