Elena Johanna Prytula von Zastrow

Elena Johanna Prytula von Zastrow was born this morning at 10:30 am. She weighs 6 pounds, 12 ounces and looks beautiful.

Mother and baby are doing wonderfully.  Father (that would be me) managed not to faint.

--But it was touch and go for a minute there....

News of newborns always bring to my mind the 'blessing' by Kurt Vonnegut's character Eliot Rosewater, which I offered to my own newborn, 30 years ago. Here's the "G" rated version:

"Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies… You've got to be kind."

This clearly won't be an issue in the Von Zastrow family. Blessings to you all!
